watch early 289s as they are five bolt bells. 65 up are six bolt. There is no way to tell looking at an windsor small block if it is a 302 or a 289. 351 windsors have a taller deck and are readily identified.
The only way to tell is the stroke. of which i don't have handy.
C5AZ8501K .. ALUMINUM Waterpump was used on 221/260/289's with 5 bellhousing mounting holes. The timing cover is also different on these early engines.
The 6 bellhousing mounting hole 289's use a cast iron waterpump.
289's from 8/23/1964 have 6 bellhousing mounting holes.

The 351W was introduced in 1969, but was not installed in F150/350's and Bronco's until 1981. Econoline's got it in 1975. No F100 ever came with a 351W.
