battery tray

have been looking for a battery tray in good condition for my 85 150 4wd-5.8l and so far have come up empty-anyone know where one might find one of these in good condition. thanks Jimbo

Have you tries LMC or NPD? They seem to have everything you would need to restore a classic truck.

NPD= National Parts Depot. Yeah, both are a little pricy on some parts but, if you're like me when it comes to my truck, price isn't a factor.

The tray was rotted out on my 86 and a original replacement was over $80. I found a replacement from an 87-93 F150 at the JY for $20. A little tweeking and it fits and works perfect! Plus they had upgraded the tray to a heavy guage galvanized steel to better resist the corrosion.

I use a vented enclosed box for a boat. It really cleans up under the hood. You can buy them at the parts store for ten bucks. It will also keep you from shortening out the battery by laying tools on the posts. Mine looks to have had that happen before I owned it.

usually, i complain about the mfg changing trucks from metal to plastic. but, that would have been a good idea. abs batt tray

You know... I am going to have to look. Maybe the tray is still there . I just picked up the battery, set it in the box, and set it back down. I think it is just sitting on the plastic inner fender.
