I remember one of you wanted to know why my truck ('70 F-100) wasn't charging - here's the answer:
I wound up taking the alternator and the voltage regulator back to the store that I bought the alternator from for another bench test - after checking out the wires you all told me to look at (they were fine). The alternator had passed a bench test earlier, and after checking it again the people at the shop realised that their tester was broken. I got another alternator and everything is fine now.
I also got the truck safety inspected again - my old inspection expired in 1991 (the truck has been sitting around for a few years). Now there is another one of these old trucks back on the road again. After fixing the clutch it should work fine.
