Hi all, i just bought a 351w out of a 73 torino, i am seeking info on what i need to do to drop the engine in a 66 f100. I have a 240 in it right now with a straight 6 on the floor. I want to go automatic, how hard is the project going to be and what do i need to do to adapt the motor and transmission? Please Help

The easiest way to do this would be to buy a later model truck with a 351/400 and an auto trans. It will have all of the items you will need for the swap. Look for something in the 73-79 range. The only part I am not real sure about is whether the later model pedal assembly will fit your 66. Worse case is that you will have to get that item seperately. Hope this helps.

Get a PAW catalog (about 3 inches thick), they have a couple of pages of engine and tranny mounts for conversions in older trucks plus they have a ton of other automotive stuff.
Whatever you do, replace the timing chain while it easy to get to. After that many years the nylon breaks away from the teeth and causes slippage. I'm in the middle of removing heads with bent valves from a '70 351W slipping a tooth or two. It never broke the chain.
