I have a older Class C 24' motorhome with a stock 350 chevy, its PAINFULLY slow! Getting up to 55/60 mph is a ordeal with a 12,500 lbs vehicle with a 350. The motor is low mile and in great condition, would like to get a little more "grunt" out of it, does anyone make headers that fit the 350 in the van/motorhome chassis configuration? Thought headers would be a great place to start.........I would like to be able to do more than 35mph up a 6% grade!
Junk the 350. Drop in a 7.3 w/ turbo and a C-6. Problem solved, and you can run Bio!
One can only dream...........I also know where there is a REALLY nice carbed 460 and C-6........but alas I am stuck with the 350 Chevy........would be really funny to have a Ford powered Chevy RV!

When my son blows up the rotary in his Rx7 we plan on dropping in a nice little 302 I have "sitting" around.

People do these types of things more than you think, It's a lot of work in my opinion. Cause you have to get new transmission mounts and all kinds of stuff...
Put in a Diesel engine!
Too old to support.....its a 83.......Just need a way to improve on the thundering, 165hp and 270ft lbs of torque the 350 is good for without breaking the bank.
Yeah, pretty anemic numbers. Pretty surprised they would use it for a motorhome powerplant..........I do pass the toyota motorhomes going uphills though!
x 2 on the 383. (similar in bore/stroke to a 390) A 383 with the right cam and a 700r (non-computer trans) would not be cheap, but the money goes to the powerplant/trans instead of conversion expenses, and you should pick up 100 hp or better.
Yes, its a Q-jet.......not overly fond of them myself, but usable. Thanks for the header link, thats what I am looking for. The clearance even with the stock exhaust manifolds is ridiculously tight on the passenger side, so I thought there must be special headers for the motorhome/van chassis. 383 stroker would be nice, but $$$ prevents that, gotta work with what I got.........Anyone suggest a good cam for such a HD application for a 350?
