body lift

I just put in the blocks for my 3" body lift and Have some questions about the steering column. The kit came with extensions for the shifter linkage on the column, will I need these? I just wanna know before I try to put it back in. Anybody do this before?

It's a 1979 F-150 4X4, 400/C6.

Yea, you do need to put it in. Make sure it is welded in good. Dont do a half *** job, you dont want it coming out.
