I hope I'm in the right forum. I have a 2003 E-350SD Van with power locks so obviously I have key fobs for entry. I have a total of 3. The 3rd one was purchased after I lost one, but I've since found it. I programmed the new one and it works fine. The older ones then suddenly stopped working as if they had a mind of their own. I've tried re-programing them individually. When I do that they work right off the bat and then stop working the next time I try them.
I'm using the cycle 8 times in 10 seconds method with on being the last position. The locks cycle and I push any button within 20 seconds. All I can think of is that these 3 key fobs need to be programmed consecutively. I'm at a loss and any input would be great. The batteries are fresh .
If the new one always works, I bet the old ones are wore out. Sorry, I don't have any other suggestions, except maybe asking the dealership. If you go to the shop/parts desk, they are friendly at my dealership and let me talk to the mechanics.
All the fobs have to be programed one right after the other. After the first one, I THINK you just have to hit one button of the other two. I believe the reprograming instructions are in owners manual.
