My power steering pump seems to be on it's way out now it just started whining today really loud. I tried to do a search for one of those nice step by step guides how to change it but nothing came up? anyone have a good link how to change it?
I actually did that flush a few months ago when I was having a strange brake problem. but I checked the oil on it and it's low but there is no leaks on the driveway so i don't know where it went....
Moto52,
I just replaced mine recently when I did the oil cooler repair.
I removed the bracket holding the PS pump and the alternator to provide access to the two front blots on the oil cooler.
I also removed the battery on that side to make it easier.
It's really not a bad job.
Good luck,
Not to point out the simple, but you did use ATF and not power steering fluid, right? I mean who in their right mind would use powersteering fluid in a powersteering pump?

Yea I used ATF. but I did find the problem it was low from it leaking at the power steering cooler just behind the front bumper and it was whining from being low on oil. I filled it back up with oil and it is back to quiet again. just going to replace the cooler tomorrow.
I was actually really suprised that it even has an oil cooler??
