blows black smoke

1988 f150 5.0,looks like a disel. Have changed IACT,idle air control,tps and O2 sensor.My next guest is pressure regulator.Any advice will help. Engine has over 300,000 miles

Yes check fuel pressure and pull the codes to see if the MAP sensor is flagged, but if no codes are thrown and everything else checks out the computer itself is suspect.

this is the same problem i have with my mustang. check the timing, to make sure its on, and to make sure its not bouncing around. my mustang retards instead of advancing, and its gets all loaded up.

There's an orange ground wire that connects to the very rear intake bolt on the drivers side. It's your O2 sensor ground. Make sure that isn't broken or corroded.
