I am restoring a 1976 F250 4x4. It had a 360 engine with auto trans. I would like to put a 351/400 with 4 speed out of a 1978 F150 2x4. Can you tell me what I will have to change? It looks like the trany is too short and the motor mounts are not the same. how can I make this work? Please help.

Rick, Will you let me give you some free advise? FORGET the tranny change. If you have the donor, and the cab and frame is OK then change the rest of your sheet metal to it, rather than trying to make a straight out of an auto.

It's a hell of a lot of work.
