I could have swore that the ford vs. the comp forums were always full of at least 8 new threads when I checked on here!! The past like year knowone has posted crap! Dont give me the FORDS are the best crap!! Lets compare and judge!! WTF!!
Yea can't even get in to any good disagreements. I own an older Ford & have for years. But you couldn't sell me a newer one. The last year I liked was 1997. If I have big money to waste on a new truck I would buy a Dodge or maybe a Chevy. I don't like the Ford diesels past the 7.3s & the modular gas motors don't interest me on bit, plus they don't get that good of gas mileage.
That sucks kermmydog, wish you felt better about the new fords. I had a 07 quadcab f150 and loved it. Wasnt to bad on gas, drove like a caddy. didnt pull like a chevy though. Wouldnt downshift when I was pulling a trailer. But I loved it none the less!! I would take a Chevy over a dodge myself. But hey thats what you like. My buddies dodge is nice, got the hemi, its fast. When we were at the gym the other day he put it in reverse and it was still in neutral!! It was funny, cool truck though!
Toyota I think is in real trouble with all these recalls. You know, their cars seem to of started going down hill when they started in NASCAR. I think they are way over priced & way over rated. If I was to buy a car I like the new Ford cars, & would have to look real hard at Ford. But I have always thought Honda has made a much better car than Toyota. I would take an newer F150 over a any new Toyota or Nissan truck.
The F150s are nice trucks but I have no use for any truck under an F250. I don't like the V-10 or the diesel that Ford has. My reason for Dodge as my first choice is the 5.9 Cummins & Dodge still & will continue to offer a 6 speed manual trans. I would not
give you ten cents for the new bigger Cummins though.

I agree on this. I have never seen what the toyota hype was. Hondas are the best japanese cars IMO.
Kermmydog I agree with ya the Cummins is awesome!! In my eyes its the only thing Dodge guys can brag about!
its also the ONLY reason they still make trucks..
if they wouldnt have gotten the Cummins engines, their truck line would be long gone..
as far as Toyota, and the rest of the imports, there may have been a time when they were better vehicles for reasonable prices, but those days are long gone..
today there is no question you are paying for some historic "quality" figure that no longer matters. Ford quality is easily as good as anything japan puts out, but so many people will not open their eyes and give the modern Fords as fresh look..
most people who like imports still think Toyota can do no wrong and US cars are junk. really gets on my nerves listening to people who havent tried anything new from Ford, and give Toyota and the imports a free pass, no matter how many recalls they have. and whats worse is they will gladly overpay for the imports...
its quite sad really..
one of my chemical suppliers at work, has a buddy who just bought a fully loaded 4door Toyota tacoma 4wd for 58K$ (cdn)... thats right a a tiny truck that isnt even capable of hauling 5 adults, and has less prowess then a 1/2ton...it blows my mind a tiny Toyota truck can even approach a price point that high.
