1996 5.8 cranks but no start
Came home last night, when pulled in the driveway and put in park Bronco started missing or loading up. Reved engine and cleared up. Shut off and went to start this morning and would crank and hit some but no start. Like it was flooded if it was a carb. It has been way over 100000 miles since I tuned up. Figured it needed new plugs and wires. Pulled plugs and all were wet with fuel. Put in new plugs, cap, rotor, wires. Still does the same thing. MIL light not on, has old code for a oxygen sensor. My checker just reads codes. Where do I need to look next???? engine coolant temp sensor??? air temp sensor???? Will a bad O2 sensor cause an overfuel???
Thanks for your help!

Found on a website last night to hold throttle all the way down and it tells computer not to fuel, then it should burn out the fuel and should start. Did that last night and it started. But still missing, Is there any way to check for miss without scan tool???? Haven't tried to start this morning yet.

If you can start it try to run both Key On Engine Off and Key On Engine Running test cycles for codes. Usually, an O2 sensor code doesn't indicate something wrong with the sensor but tells you about a running condition of the engine. If you get an O2 sensor code for running lean the computer will increase fuel output so you need to narrow down what's causing the lean reading.

Thanks for the help, I started it this morning and it still missing, tried to drive to church and the MIL started flashing within 1/2 mile, returned home and swapped rides. Got back from church and finished the tune up, New Fuel filter and Air filter. Then checked codes again. #3 misfire. Crawled up in the engine compartment to check firing order and see which was # 3 and found a plug wire had come off the dist cap. Must have pooped off when I clipped the back clip on the cap. It is behind the intake hoses so I was clipping it on by reaching over the hoses and did not see it come off. Put back on the cap and it ran good, cleared the codes and test drove and did not come back.
Still doesn't explain why it was missing the night before unless it was the real old plugs like I thought. Turning the wife loose in it tomorrow, Her rig.
Thanks Baron I can pull the codes but can't read any data for the sensors or anything. It is one of those 50$ readers.
