Cruise control
When using the cruise control at 30mph the engine accelerates then drops, excellerates then drops. The range is about 1000 rpm up and down. The problem has worked it's way up to 40mph so I think it is time to look into it.

Any ideas?

I think that's about the bottome end for using cruise control... Mine does that at higher speeds also when the enging is cold until it warms up...
