NO WAY!!!!!

Not again! Not more than 5 weeks ago I had to replace my CPS. I ordered one from Ford but could not wait for it to be shipped so I got one made by Standard from a local parts shop. I just went to start my truck and it would not start! Same symptoms as before. It cranks but no tach and no smoke out the exhaust. Could it be the CPS again!?!?!

Thanks for the info. I am going to put the Ford one in and hope that will get it running. If so I am going to try to get one from IH.

Make sure you check the face of the old cps for marks from excessive cam shaft movement

Yep the wts light comes on. I cant see it being any thing else other than the CPS. At least I hope it is nothing else. Will checke all fuses though before I crawl under there.

Yoslick where in NW Wisc do you live?

Scat I would check the wires all the way back you may have a broken wire or the plug or pigtail may be dorked.

the plug looks ok. Right now it is imposable to tell where two of the three wires from the plug goes. One of them tees of to a sensor that is right above the CPS but the other two tee into a big cable right behind the HPOP. The big cable goes to the passenger side and to a big bolt together plug right next to the fuse block near the IDM and I cant even tell what color the wires are because I am color blind. Can any one tell me exactly where those two wires go? Is there any way to test them with a meter at the plug?

Wish I could help you there I figured if there was going to be a problem with the wires it would be closer to the CPS itself maybe back a few inches or the plug itself.
