Door locks posessed!?!?!?

Today was the first time I have had this problem. The fob would not unlock the doors. I figured maybe it had a dead battery so I tried the spare...nothing. Once you get in and go, the locks cycle endlessly unlocking themselves over and over. It does stop, but then you get out and try to lock the truck and nothing. The lock buttons in the truck do nothing other than start the demonic posession of the locks running again.

I did a search but nothing seemed to fit this problem. I will probably start by pulling door panels to get at the switches so I can disconnect them one at a time. I will probably also check relays and see if I can swap them around to figure out if one is bad.

Any other suggestions would be great.

This same thing happened to my son's car. It turned out water had gotten into his driver's door switch and was shorting out the unlock side.

Perhaps you could use an oil extracter pump to draw the water out of the switch.

It was the drivers door switch. I have it unplugged for now. I managed to break the trim piece in the process so now I need the trim and the switch.

I admitted nothing of the sort. Last I knew sludge doesn't build up inside of a switch.
