Of course, you could have a 2010 with the 6.2... Just order a Raptor! If they offered a SCREW I would have gotten one in a heartbeat (no Chevy joke intended).
I would wait for the 2011's if you can afford to pay a bit more as the newer models won't be discounted for a while. The 5.4's lack of power relative to some of the other halftons on the market has been the F150's downfall in recent years. The 6.2L with 400hp/400 torque plus that 6 speed tranny will be a wonderful hauling rig. The 6.2L will be available in the XLT, so I have read.
If the extra power is not a consideration for you, the 5.4L will do fine and you will see some really good buys once the new 2011 trucks hit the market.

Welcome to FTE! Where did you read that the 6.2L will be available in the XLT models? Do you have a link?
There is a thread in the Super Duty Forum that has a Ford Engineer that will answer any questions about the 6.2, as he helped design it. So far, as he says, he cannot/ will not comment on them putting the 6.2 in f-150 (other than the Raptor) as of yet because nothing has been released yet to that affect.
From what I have heard/read the 6.2l with only be offered in the raptor and maybe harley edition. The engine replacing the 5.4l with be the 5.0l that is going into the new mustang, this is what one of the salesman at my local dealer told me, but he said that was what he was hearing and it has not been confirmed.
I think I will go with a 2010 and drive it for a couple years to see what comes out and what they are like. I just can't see the new 5.0l having as good of a torque curve as the 5.4l for pulling. It might have more torque but it's where the usable torque is in relation to engine speed that makes the truck a good hauler.

That very well may be true but I would have an extremely hard time plunking down $50k for a 2011 Platinum and not be able to get the "premium" 6.2L engine.

I have trouble plunking down $50K for any pick up truck.

The 2010 f150 4X4 supercrew, I price out was $34,776 (Canadian)
That is for a XLT with crome package, 5.4l, max trailer tow, sony stereo, rear camera, skid plates, and few other options.

I'd pay that if it's what I wanted. But, not $50K for anything.
