Here are a few pics of my setup. Love this device. Simpler, less cost. I like the look of analog, but this device is a no-brainer. 4 screens with multiple PIDs....I primarily watch a 6 PID display with Eng Oil Temp, Eng Coolant Temp, Tranny Temp, Exhaust Gas Temp, Voltage, and Boost. I can adjust warning settings , it has a valet setting, so I know if someone has exceeded a limit that I have set. Just plugs right in to your OBDII DLC port. Couldn't be easier for some a necessary device. If you want to watch fuel or oil pressure you will ned to run a separate guage...Insight doesn't cover thoses PIDs. Also the EGT probe is sold separately but very easy to install.
If my EGT gauge ends up being my problem and not the probe, I think I just might spend the extra money for the Insight, instead of spending $130+ on just an EGT gauge. Moyock, where did you get yours, and about what would I expect to spend on it? Will my thermocouple from my AutoMeter pyro work with it, or do I need to buy a different one? Sorry for the hi-jack.
Any ideas on convincing the wife that I absolutely have to have the insight. I wear the pants guys but she carries the wallet. Retired so money is an issue.

Do you pull any heavy loads? up hills? Tell her that you need to monitor EGT's because if it goes over 1300, it will cost you $2500 in repairs. Worth a try!

Insight reads the parameters that are read by your truck's computer. This allows you to accurately monitor a lot of things that are going on with your engine. Once you're familiar with how your engine typically operates (oil temp, coolant temp, trans temp, etc) you'll know immediately when something changes. This means you can catch little problems before they become big problems. The factory gauges only react when its too late.
It's always better to practice preventive maintenance than to pay a big repair bill later.

Ebay seller for $279, probe was separate, but long story short I got it for free. Would have been $71. You have to use Insight's proprietary EGT probe though. Like I said...very simple hook up and very effective and efficient. The cost and time spend installing myultiple analogs was not worth it to me....I needed it now and Edge's Insight is perfect for my application. Edge has very good customer service as well. I don't think I'd go with their tuning devices since they haven't conquerred the Torqshift tranny, but this device is awesome.
The Edge is a nice monitor. I'm trying to decide between it and the DashDAQ. The DashDAQ has more features and much better graphics, however the cost is close to double the Edge.
Does anyone know where you can download the Edge user manual? I looked on their website but couldn't find a link.
