HI guys!! I recently purchased my 2008 F-350 not long ago and noticed quickly that there is a not alot of accessories for the V10 at all! Exhaust systems are very few to choose from, and thats about it! I was looking to add a little more power to the beast but I have not personally dealt with a programmer. From what i've read some say the gains are enormous ,while others say what little gains you get it wasn't worth the price, and even those that say it destroys the engines life span! I would like to get your guys response, what gains could i expect (HP & torque). And where can i find accessories for this V10 monster, if there is any?

Hi dusty33
We can help you out for your tunes if interested. Give us an email and i can get you all the info you need. There are good gains on the 3v 10 over stock just with 87 pump gas. See here for some info Got a V10 Ford F250/350/450/550? As much as 75 ftlb torque on tip in can be gained... to the ground. As for other stuff for V10 any free flowing muffler and intake can help the cuase for power. Gears too can be a very good mod if one go's to larger than stock tires.
I am having the same problem, My 08 v10 rollback is just a boat anchor. It's fuel mileage is getting worse, avg 5.7 and it gets weaker by the day. What can I do? It has 113K on the clock.
No doubt about it Mike from 5Star can and will hook you up!!!! Major rear end dyno improvement for sure!
I just sent my buddy his direction for his 2010 F350 dually.... it is a dog compared to mine, but I am in a SRW F250 with 4.30 rear and he has 4.10 gears...

It needs to be looked at by a good mechanic. no programmer is going to fix it. sounds like there's a issue.
I run a v10 in a 09 F450 Repo rig and it has *****, and fuel mileage average is 9MPG, I love mine and wouldn't have another diesel, unless it's in a medium duty truck.
Thanks for the reply. I am not the only one here in Louisville that is having the same problem. There is another company here in town that has an 2011 and he is only getting 6mpg. I wish I could figure it out. If you hear of anything please let me know.

You can't do much on a 450/550 tow truck to help mileage, but an SCT from 5 star will wake it up! My 09 f550 gets about 5.7 in town, and 8-9 on the highway. It weighs 13,660 empty. It will keep up with traffic at the lights with the SCT though.
The typical "bolt ons" are next to useless on these (unless you just want more noise) because the factory parts are so good and well matched to the engine. Exhaust is very free flowing, factory exhaust manifolds are good, intake can flow more than engine can use. It is a really well balanced package.
Unless you get into cams or superchargers, about the only thing worth spending $$$$ on is a 5 Star Tune. Do NOT waste money on any of the generic tuners with canned programs.
As far as an exhaust... well I had a pretty agonizing experience trying to pick one. There are not many manufacturers catering to the V10 and I can tell you why.
First I will say that I enjoy my truck being "different" so I like my exhaust.
The "trouble" with the V10 is that it doesn't rumble at all... Its an even firing engine so it has a smooth exhaust note... think V6 on steroids. Most people are looking for that large displacement deep tone... also not going to happen unless you keep your RPMs under 2K everywhere you go. I decided after listening on Youtube.com for 6 months to a bunch of cheesy video clips, that could never give me an idea of the sound, to consult a local guy. I have a stainless setup now, with a dual side exit before the rear axle on the pass side. Standard size pipes 3" single to the muffler with two 2 1/2" exits. The muffler is a custom build but it would be similar in interior design to a Flowmaster 40 Series, but this is chambered a little larger to avoid the "drone" you hear some folks talk about if you search for info on this subject.
At about 3K-4.5K RPM when your on the feeder peddle, the exhaust sound can be described as if your V10 is solely an air pump... it just has a loud air being pushed through pipes sound. Otherwise its got sort of a sports car (think big bore Ferrari) type sound, especially if I leave Tow/Haul engaged while driving around town.
I have been real busy working lately, but if I get time Ill take some video with my good camera and post it up for you.
If you are serious about the exhaust, I can help you out, just PM me/email me... Ill do what I can to save you some time. Just what ever you do decide to do, if you do this on your own, do not (DO NOT) buy anything but stainless... Ford already has trouble with the stock pipe work on these trucks, you dont want to invite more rust to the party.
On the accessories... Ill assume you mean things like Air intake/ TB Spacers... others are right, they are just noise makers if you want them on this truck. Mike at 5-Star is the way to go for the tuner (X3 is what he'll recommend). Go with that, I plan to soon as well... but I been saying that for almost a year now. (Just got married, so I wasn't allowed to spend money while we were saving for the wedding).
