Telescoping Mirrors

Good Afternoon.

I just bought a 1999 F-250 4X4 and was wondering about the mirrors. It may sound silly but I thought that they all moved in and out for trailer towing. I can't seem to get them to move in. Do they or do they not telescope on this year of truck.

Some of these are manual, grab and pull out. Mine are electric, and the truck has a button on the armrest that controls this. Hope this helps a bit...

Tried pulling and pushin on them and they seem not to move at all. I think they look silly all the way out like that, and I don't see and button on the arm rest other than the one to adjust the mirror it self.

They should. Don't expect them to move a foot or more though. Mine has 3 posititons. About an inch or 2 apart. Grab the inside of the mirror housing between the two posts & give a little tug. If that doesn't work, push it toward the door.
There are no buttons, it's done manually in '99

Welcome to FTE, BTW.

Nope, these suckers are stuck. Maybe some WD-40. Do the supports push in th mirror or the door so I know what to lube. All the mirrors do push in though right.

Quit trying. The TT mirrors in 1999 DO NOT telescope.

Well mine don't seem to want to move in or out so I will assume that they don't, unless someone can show me otherwise. Thanks for the help.

My 99 DID NOT telescope. I got a set of mirrors from a 2005 that telescope, power mirror, turn, marker lights and heat. $100 and they mounted right up...work great. Got them from another member on this forum that put actual Semi truck mirrors on his 05. Check around...you can find a good deal if you shop around enough.

My 1999 mirrors did not telescope or fold forward. Only backwards. The spot mirror on the bottom was not adjustable either.

2008 F250 SD DIesel- how to change Mirror Marker Lights?

Ford Manual does not show how this is done. I see behind the mirror some clips- do these need undone or can you just remove the amber cover with a screwdriver?
