Aggressive yet streetable tires?
aahh,,, that would be me. I like to think I'm just squeezing every last penny outta them. I have about 70,000 on the current tires, just about time to replace them,,,, but not quite yet.
I just purchased the wrangler Duratrac's and i LOVE them. I only have a few hundred miles on them but they ride great, look good, and have very little road noise. I heard that they will make more noise after they are broke in, i will update when i get that far. These are the most aggressive tires i have owned and i hope to get some decent mileage out of them.
Being in Western WA. you may not be able to answer this question (unless you have already done a few trips over Snoqualmie or Stevens) but I am curious how well they do in snow.
I put a set of the duratracs on my 05 F250 reg cab with the 5.4 and 410 LS rear end. I went oversized with 285-70-17. I use this truck as a daily driver in the oil fields and also push a 7.5 western plow with it. Very good snow and mud traction. A little noisy on the highway but not bad. Goodyears web site gives the duratracs the highest snow rating they have at 10 so i took their word for it. Also put a set on a 02 GMC half ton with 410 LS 5.3 reg cab. Went oversized with 265-70-16 and even went with a load range E as thats what they had in stock. Drove this truck through the Colorado rookies in december in the big snow storm and on through Utah snow and four wheel drive all the way, then down I-15 to Vegas. They also preformed flawlessly. Very good all around 4x4 snow and mud tires. Both of these trucks were running wrangler silent armors prior to the duratracs and the tracs are a lot better in the snow.
Another thumbs up for the Duratrac's from me as well; I just put a set on my SD and so far they've been stellar. Nice street manners - some road noise on the highway, but not even close to what I was expecting after reading what I could find on the web. Haven't towed with them, but aired down on some pretty technical trails (well, technical for a essentially stock 1ton) they work great.
I went a little bigger than stock (285's) but wishing I'd gone to 35's.

I have not used them in the snow yet, but will as soon as we get some! I can't wait. Once i try them out, i will post my opinion. So far, no issues with the rain, LOL
