Steering Box Leak?....Replace?
Hello, i have an '05 F350 HD and just found a small (about the size of a quarter) puddle of oil under the front drivers side of my truck. I have traced it back to the input on my steering box. I am concerned about this because i know that the pump powers the hydroboost, and I don't want to be loosing brakes anytime soon. Anyway, has anyone ever had to deal with this? What about putting a new seal in there? Am I better off just replacing the entire box? Lastly, What is the torque on the pitman arm nut as I have heard both 200 and 350 ft-lbs..I think I can handle the replacement, but does anyone have a write up for an '05+ ?

It's been a long time, but the input shaft seals are difficult to replace. There is also probably a bigger reason that there is a leak at the input shaft of the box. It is unlikely that it will suddenly fail, so it is up to you to replace the box.
