That looks like a pretty good leak. I wouldn't drive it much. Probably has something to do with that new chip you got........lol.......

Some times if the fuel filter housing/drain valve leaks and mixes with the gunk in the valley, it will turn black. The thing to do is to get some simple green, spray it in the valley, then use a water hose to clean the oil out. Then when dry, start the engine and look for the leak. Look at all the lines going to the HPOP and around the turbo pedestal.

If you are hitting high oil pressure numbers that could very well be.

I'm thinking HPOP. Check that PITA "non-serviceable" plug. I just had that happen, and fixed it in an afternoon...

The first thing you need to do is to find the leak. Then we can tell you how to fix it or you can bring it to a mech. and show him what the problem is. This way you will not get the shaft.

If it is an hpop o-ring, it's an easy deal. The hardest part is locating it. I had exactly the same looking leak as yours last year. Turned out to be a plug at the back of the hpop. I found out by washing out the valley area with simple green and low pressure water. Then I fired up the engine, took a flashlight and an inspection mirror and found exactly where it was coming from.

Clean up the valley. Get you a gallon of Simple Green and get out the garden hose. Cover the Alt, PS pump, and intake (if it's an open element). Spray down, rinse, and repeat until clean enough to see where the oil is coming from. To see the HPOP non-serviceable plug, you'll need a flashlight & inspection mirror. It's fairly obvious, just be careful climbing around up there with the engine running...

If it is the HPOP, repairing the it is a straight-forward process with hand tools and a repair kit. Guzzle sells a kit to do that plug for ~$35. Get all the O-rings/sleeve seals you need from him, and I suggest you go ahead and do the fuel bowl drain valve since it's right there and you'll have the bowl off anyway. Here are the pics from my HPOP repair job. Oh, and you'll also need some gray Permatex and a 1" deep socket for the EBPS to get the cover off for the HPOP gear...

What they said just make sure the engine is cold when cleaning.

I actually prefer a little warm over cold. It kinda helps break up the junk. Just not HOT.

I would think a leak like that would be noticeable on the dipstick. Get an accurate reading before you leave work and then again once you get home after letting it sit and letting most of the oil to return to the pan.
