Ok, some of you know I've been having poor mileage after my recent van turbo/up-pipes and Airdog installation.
Who has an Airdog and can tell me if when they turn there key to the ON position do you hear or can feel your airdog running?
I ask because mine does NOT, I've checked the fuses and power/ground wires and they are good on the batt. I know these are set to 10PSI but is it on continuosly? or when it hits 10PSI does it shut off untill the pressure drops between the fuel pump then starts back up?
Also any pictures as to where you have put ur relay/fuse would be helpful.
Ok, Ill check my PM's. Test light would be a great start. Sounds like you aren't getting fuel pressure and your stock pump is trying to pull through the AirDog.

Yep that was my thought exactly....it worked when I left the garage in WI(heard it running and fuel was coming out of the drain) but I noticed the poor mileage within an hour of driving and ofcourse most of the way down to TX. But when I stopped half way to fuel up, I shut it off to rest and when I started back down to TX I saw maybe 3 hours of better mileage. Then I had to fuel up again(I try not to go below half tank) and it was back to the crap mileage.
Ok so I checked the plug at the Airdog and no voltage and no ground. I checked the plug at the relay and Ive got voltage and ground. Which would lead me to belive its a bad relay....voltage going to it but noting come out. But then I checked the leadwire that goes inside the cab into the fuse box and its grounded out too........electrical and me dont get along so if im missing somthing here PLEASE ADVISE! Does anyone know how to check the relay with a multimeter to tell its is good/junk?
Ok I figured out the relay works, but only with the key in the ON position once I start the truck it truns off. Ive tried every fuse position on the fuse box, the last thing I tried was what Clay suggested:to tap into the wire that powers my gauges and same exact thing is happending. Key on-works/Engine on-no work. Not sure if its drawing to much or not enough and then wont work, by why only with key ON?
2morrow Im going to hot wire it straight to the OEM fuel pump, so that when it turns on the Airdog turns on. Just wish I coulda used the harness incase I wanted to add the filter change light later on.
I tried wiring it to the stock fuel pump(airdog ground to the fuel pump ground) and (airdog power to the fuel pump power) and still the same thing....shuts off and wont come back on. I think it has somthing to do with it running on the batt.(works) then when the truck starts and the alt starts charging(dosnt work). With key on 12.XX volts is at the airdog, with the engine running its 13.XX volts, so I know its got voltage. Clay is trying to get ahold of pure flow for me to see if there is a solution!
Just a thought...but aren't there two different type of relays? One that when GROUND is supplied. it clicks and allows the power to flow through to the unit you are powering up..... and another that needs POWER supplied, (relay grounded to chassis), to activate it to let the power go through. When the truck is on ON, it gives power but when engine running it doesn't so the relay sees it as a ground?
