OK guys, I'm starting with you.
My truck didn't have a distributor when I bought it. I now have a new dissy, and the engine is going back together after YEARS at the engine guys.
I need either
1) A picture of what the hold down looks like on a flattie
or
2) The actual piece if anyone has one.
I will look through my manual tonight, and then check the on-line lists.
Thanks in advance, you guys are always the first place I check.
I dont know if someone sells them or not? Couple of donor flatties I had were just a bolt and washers, guess it worked ok? If you can't find one let me know as I'm sure I have an extra one you can just have. (I'm not home right now or I'd double check) but am pretty sure.
cheers
josh
I'll see if I can compare the two, but it's just like a 302's hold down if I remember correctly. The flatty piece may be a little deeper, but if worse comes to worse, try the 302 piece (or washers, as Josh notes!)
i have too make one for that cut down chebby dizzy in mine yet , but i got mine laying here somewhere , and if i recall like ross was suggesting i think it's the same dained thing on my roller 5.0 sitting here ..... i'll have to dig it out and look . i too may have an extra one but i cant garauntee it as i had some extra parts from varios flatties sitting here from a truck that sat out with no front clip and the flatty got filled with water , seized up , then froze and cracked the block . da-- kid didn't think the then running flatty was worth saving as he was gonna put in a 5.0 . again i'll look but no gaurantees . the black hole and the storage shed have a way of eating things and making them dissapear .................
