Just about anywhere that sells radio accessories.Walmart,AutoZone,Radio Shack all come to mind for me.

Do a google search for it,then you can get a better idea of who actually sells them.

I did not need one for my truck. I just removed the old radio and slide the new one in and opened the tabs so she wouldnt slide out and was good to go.

1980-1984 uses the old **** and Shaft type radio.

1984-1986 uses the newer "din type" mount.

Notice the 1984 could have both depending on the radio option.

They are interchangeable as well as the bezel. Sounds like he needs to get a din mount style radio bezel and the adapter kit, and would be good to go from there.

Over priced.

Ebay is your friend. Most of the kits that say for an 80-96 will have the shaft style plates and everything because back then, most people replaced stock shaft style with the Alpine shaft styles.

Yes, stuff generally costs more from Crutchfield.

I will continue to purchase from them, anyway.

They've been around for something close to 40 years, they're here in the US, they
have experts on staff and in house who you can call up and talk to and ask
questions of, both before and after purchasing stuff from them.

Try doing that with eBay or WalMart or Amazon.

Yeah Crutchfield has earned the right to over charge. They are a great company, i usually deal with underground companies. The only thing you would recognize in my truck is my Alpine Headunit and Lanzar Components and everything else you would proly think is a flea market company.

well i got my kit from wal-mart it worked fine. i also got the wiring harness from there too but watch out for the ground wire it has some funky loop from the factory i had to bypass it but it did work for the speaker connections. i used a small blade to trim the dash to make it look neat. wal-mart is the way to go!!my truck is an 84 also!
