First off thanks for the help so far. Got my dads 1982 ford f250 running. I mean it was running but I had to reinstall drive shaft with new u joints and get the rims mounted. I just got the brakes and drive shaft done.
I am looking to restore the interior and then move onto the exterior. Where is the best place to get a new dash and door panels. I was looking at lmc truck and they are expensive. I was thinking a junk yard might be the best bet. Any body got anything they might be willing to ship? Post pictures of your interiors so I can get some ideas of what to do please. Thanks
Ya that looks really nice. My dad wants to keep work truck status. I think I might remove the seat and put a rubber coating on the floor. Carpet is nice but mud is hard to clean up. New door panels, headliner, stereo, steering wheel, seat. Then I'll prabaly run outa money Its tough to keep up when the truck sits neglected for 15 years. Where did you get your seat ri_truck_guy? You have a super nice truck!!!! Is it possible to install a tach? Mine gauges are tachless....
Look around at the junkyard you can find some really nice stuff there sometimes if your lucky. I found a set of woodgrain doorpanels for my F150 (I actually didnt end up using them cause I bought them for 10$ and when I got home I showed em to a friend who told someone he knew about them and the guy came and offered me $100 for the pair. Needless to say I sold em). You can find some good stuff if your patient and willing to wait.
If you get a Junkyard Tach, pick up the printed circuit out of an 81-86 truck.80 printed circuits are different than 81-86 and will not work. You can get the tach out of an 80 though.
I recently re-did my interior, but I swapped in an entire new interior from a donor truck.
I'm nowhere near being done, but this is where i'm at.
These are my original door panels, but they've been repainted.I added the chrome molding, and the woodgrain inserts. The armrests were something I made in shop class.Driver's side:
Passenger side:
This is what my interior used to look like:
I eventually want to get some plastic molded map panels for the bottom of the doors, some black carpet, and a woodgrain horn pad for the steering wheel.I already have an XLT steering wheel that I plan to put in down the road.
Those are the excate same door panels and interior that I pulled out of the truck at the junkyard. I kept the dash peices and sold the door planels. Looks really good.
We carry interior parts for that truck, such as door panels, seat covers and carpets. Here is a link to that section for your application if you would like to take a look at what we have.
Thanks....I picked up that seat several years ago. I think this is the third truck its been in. It's made by a company calle Lux Liner out of Sturgis, Michigan.
Nice looking trucks guys. Don't go with the LMC door pannels, they cost alot and the chrome trim doesnt line up with the channel its a real pain in the butt. Your best bet is to look in the junk yards and try to find something usable. All the plastic can be painted the color of your choice so dont let that stop you. Try to find a lariat, they had the nice woodgrain and upholstery. Also the 1980 woodgrain is a nicer rosewood color then the 81 to 82 burlwood stuff.
Im in the same boat as you after our shop fire my interior in the truck was ruined, but atleast I still have a truck to finish.

1980-1984 had the Rosewood,85-86 had the Burlwood.I agree though, the burlwood is kinda ugly IMO.
Oh,and after 84,Ford stopped offering the Woodgrain on the door panels.I just got lucky enough to find those from an 80 Ranger Lariat. They're not perfect, but I knew they were rare,so I grabbed them.Somebody had already grabbed the entire Dash,so I lost out on the bezels.
Yea your right fordzilla, in my haste i mis typed the numbers. That rosewood dash is really nice though. I like those silver bezals though, especially on a dark interior.
Im looking for a set in good shape if anyone has any.
