Dealer Question

I have a 2005 Excursion PSD, and I had it at the dealer in early December to have the rear main seal replaced. While it was in with the $100 deductible I told them to update the PCM to the flash newest flash that came out in late November. When I picked it up, they told me the flash was already up to date, even though the truck hadn't been to the dealer since July. I didn't give it much thought. Shortly after I had a SES light for a "Turbo Under Boost" code for stuck turbo vanes, and now the truck has been starting kinda hard and running rough and smoking a lot on cold mornings. These are issues that are addressed by the newest flash. Do I have a case if I take the receipt back to the dealer and tell them I want them to install the new flash without the deductible?

According to my dealer Ford is no longer covering the new TSB under the 100 buck deductible.

I argued with them and told them that they told me last month to add something to it. I waited and had a cac hose start to leak pretty bad. The SA took it to the SM and they dropped the extra charge for the TSB,

Unfortunately, this sounds like an "Our IDS updates automatically" issue. They dont. Ford sends patches automatically to help out existing IDS programming, but to fully update the equipment, thy have to do it through the fmcdealer site (It'll take an hour or so to do it). Just ask them what version of programming their IDS has (Mine today has 65.02). It must be updated to have all the new vehicle flashes available.
