Its been a rough 2 weeks. Went back to school on the 8th and got about 45miles from school and the truck starts smoking and carrying on bad. I knew i lost an injector again as its happened several times now. Got towed the rest of the way and had had dad come pick me up the following morning with the truck and trailer and a spare truck so I could get back and fourth to work. Turned out teh hold down bolt on *7 snapped off. Got that back together and the truck back the following weekend.
On my way back I stopped to drop some trailer parts off to my mechanic and i smell my brand new brakes burning up. Got it on the lift and it turned out that new adjusters spin too easy and the 1 side over tightened. So we took them apart adn rubbed so Go-Jo in the threads to add some friction. After that headed teh 160 miles to school uneventfull.
Last wed when I was heading to work I go out to find the batteries deader than dead. No one was around and i was already late for work so i had to call a tow truck for a jump :/ After a half hour of him not having any luck I had them tow it into their shop a mile down the road and put batteries in it
Than on thursday when I was coming back from my lap i hear a little valve noise like a gas motor running out of oil than all of a sudden a load BANG and knocking from the passenger bank of the motor. I call the tow truck again for the 3rd time in less than 2 weeks and get towed into the shop. Got the valve cover off and found th push rod for #7 bent and snapped in half. They were supposed to all be new when the motor was rebuilt. I dont know if i got a bad one or what. I'm running comp 910s. should I go with the high rev push rods?
The truck is back together and seems fine now after almost a grand in tow bills and parts on motor with less than 2,000miles on it.
I figured I would at least need a new nozzle but when i pulled the injector it didnt have the tell tale heat dis coloration. I got lucky and got it shut down fast enough
Thanks everyone. It seems like the truck has just fought me the whole time through building it up. If it weren't for the amount of money i have in it and the fact that it should be set up to do exactly what i want it to do i'de of sold the thing a while ago and bought a different truck. When i get on the skinny peddle and it sticks me back in teh seat it does help take away some of the frustration and you can;t help but grin while blowing by little ricers
