Just to inform you guys about a VERY impressive product out right now that many of you may not know about.
Sylvania has some new bulbs out for out trucks (the rounds and rectangulars), and they go by the names Cool Blue and Xtra Vision.
I haven't tried the Xtra Visions, but the Cool Blue's are VERY impressive.
Don't let the name Cool Blue fool you though, these puppies put out pure WHITE light. I put a driver's side 6054CB in, and compared to the normal halogen passenger side. Man, if you can't tell they where yellowish before, this will prove it! I'm never going back to normal halogens again!
They're not any brighter, the Xtra Vision bulbs are though. They're suppose to be 20% brighter.
They sell for around 17.99 a piece, but well worth is I think. You might have to order them, but Checker's auto supply(parts?) Kragen auto parts(supply?) and Shuck's auto parts(supply?) should have them in stock, as well as any Big Wheel Rossi's.
You can tell them apart by the last 2 letters. 6054CB/XV/LL (cool blue/ xtra vision/ long life)
and 6024 for rounds..
They're as white as my KC 380,000 candle power lights...
They don't draw ANY more power than a normal halogen. It's a color-filtering bulb housing (the thing the filament goes in, not the entire thing) that makes it white.
They're not any brighter, (they appear to be though, since pure white is cleaner than the yellow) and as long as your headlights are aimed right, and you don't drive around with your brights on like everyone seems to be doing usually (here anyways) it doesn't bother a soul. I tested it myself. (had a freind drive the truck and I drove past him in normal traffic one night).
No Sir, it aint the KCs. Some of those Ford trucks can get behind you in traffic and nearly blind you, so I was wondering about this new big brite lite that you are recommending, and just shivered.
they're really not brighter.. Seriously, they're just clean light..They have numerous benifits that I've seen so far, such as actually reflecting off of the marking lines in the middle of asphalt roads while it's raining! The old lights didn't do that on our roads here..you can see where your going now!
As for being anoying behind you..Well, probably..but then again, it prolly the other person's fault for being in such a little car =-) hehe..
