Platinum Running Boards

Does anyone know if there is a way to make the retractible running boards on an F150 Platinum stay deployed? In other words, there are times when I can see an advantage in leaving the running boards down, like when washing the truck or in a parking lot to help avoid door dings (most people don't want to open their doors into a steel running board).

yes, through the message center/computer dash buttons, there's an option to have them stay out. I have them out when washing the truck.

as far as preventing door dings, they hang pretty low so it would only help for small cars. Even with regular running boards, a SUV or another truck can give you a door ding.
