Okay, I threw in the towel. I felt funky driving in the morning with the wipers set on intermittent and the headlights flashing. I am going to take out the wire and put in one of these
Well, I got the unit, and it is installed! The sensor works great! I have it hooked to my wipers and high and low beams. It is nice that the headlights do not blink with the windshield wipers anymore.
I got mine, but haven't had time to install it yet. Where did you make your connections for the wiper control? And does it work with the intermitent wipers? The instructions that came with my unit were a bit underwhelming...
I know they were. For the wiper control, I connected it to one of the terminals at the motor. I can find out which one later. It works with the intermittent wipers. I connected the parking lights to the brown terminal of the headlight switch. I connected the headlight wire to the red yellow wire before the beam select switch. I also did the headlight relay, so I do not have a high amount of amps through the wire.
when i lived in florida, i learned of the term "liquid sunshine". It seemed to rain every other day, and when the wind was kicked up, you could actually be getting dumped on while the sun shines. one side of the sky could be a dark cumulous cloud, and the other with perfect sunshine. i'm sure everybody has experienced this at some point or another. let's hope it doesn't happen to you as you drive past a smokey.
I bought some relays for mine a while back, havent done the conversion yet, but I was planning on feeding the headlight switch from a curcuit thats only hot with the key on. At least I cant leave the lights on when I shut the truck off. If you just leave the headlight switch on you kinda have daytime running lights with that setup.
