Truck just stopped running, thought it was a short in wiper circuit because it would run until wipers turned on. Disconnected wiper but left headlight & parking light are lit very dim with no switches on. Turn signal relay chatters while fuel pump is priming. Looked for shorts, removed all bulbs. Truck will run but not good and will die if you press gas to fast. Does this make sense to anybody?
Tell us more about your truck. Year? Engine? Cab and bed configuration? Transmission? Has anything been modified? What was the last thing that was done to the truck?

Yeah, I guess the basics might help. It's a 99' F-250 SD, 5.4l, 4x4, 8ft bed. Automatic transmission.
I've actually been fighting with this issue since last winter. The wipers would stick on once in a while, even with the switch off and key out. I would have to toggle the ignition key to assessor to get the wipers to shut off. One night I started the truck and as soon as I turned the headlights on, it died. I tried it again leaving the lights off and turning the wipers on and it died again. I pulled fuses for wipers and headlights thinking I had a short. I can start the truck now but the left headlight & parking light are getting pwr somehow, they are very dim but on. The left turn signal indicator is also on but very dim. With the truck running, if I unplug the headlight, the truck dies and the turn signal relay chatters really loud. It just seams like there are too many issues for it to be a short.
It's not a short, it's probably a bad ground connection.
Check the grounds on the firewall, the upper radiator support, and behind both kick panels (check driver's side first) looking for loose or corroded connections.
Thank you. If it ever stops raining I will check all of the ground connections. Would a bad ground cause the original issue of the wipers staying on with the switch off and key out of ignition?
No, but water dripping from a leaking windshield into the GEM module certainly will do that. Water leaking into that same area can also find its way down to the ground lugs behind the driver's kick panel and corrode those connections.
After almost a year of messing with my truck, it took a good 5 minutes to find a loose ground on the firewall and tighten it. It started, runs and everything works fine. I wish I had joined this forum a long time ago. Thank you very much for the help.
