Since my truck is wrecked up, now is the time to install the trans cooler and intercooler. I've had the 6.0 intercooler for a couple of years now, but havne't installed it because of the 02 trans cooler being in the way. I don't really need a bigger trans cooler, but it won't hurt. I have been looking for a trans cooler for 6 months. I don't understand how they continually sell for $200 or more for a USED one.
I like the idea of mounting like factory, but I'm seriously considering an aftermarket one now. This is getting ridiculous.
15 second google search turnded up this CL ad http://seattle.craigslist.org/oly/pts/1559630276.html. if it's not a typo, its a killer deal. I got mine over the summer from a guy in NJ BRAND NEW for 125 shipped. they are hard to find though. check that one out
@Rob, yeah I keep hearing of deals like your's but I have a pretty good search setup and check ebay just about everyday. I went to bid on one today and in the last 15 seconds it went from 101 to $205!!!
I'd spend $100 or less on it but it's just not worth more than that for it, I don't care how big it is or how well it works that's just what it's worth to me.
@Andrew, that mustang mania guy has coolers for sale all the time and seems to get his money, that looks like the smaller one but I guess either one is worth it.
I don't have much luck on craigslist nationwide searches. I'll see what the deal is with that one thanks!
I think the trucool is a little bit bigger than stock, but I may consider it and mounting it in the stock location. I value my A/C. The true cool looks like it's intended to be mounted with the stock coolers as an additional cooler. I have to replace my factory cooler.
It is intended to be plumbed inline with your stocker. The tru cool is the same thing as the cooler from the V10 trucks. When I had my trans replaced, they swapped in the V10 cooler (unbeknownst to me) and after swapping in the 6.0 31 row cooler, my temps still dropped 50-60 degrees. If you don't mind having them in series, I THINK the overall cooling is comparable to that of the 6.0 cooler.

What I did was as soon as it was listed sent him a private email and he ended the auction and we did a private sale outside of ebay..Otherwise im sure if it went to its final auction day would have cost much more.. Took a shot in the dark and it worked out...
Ah, I got a set of OE auto hub locks like that. Asked what he wanted and took him cash before he could change his mind.
Kevin, I have to get rid of the OE cooler to install the 6.0 IC. If there was one that was the same size as the 6.0, but required mounting fab I might go that way, but the true cool wouldn't be worth it to me either.
Chris - I had the same crap going on when I was looking for a 6.0 cooler. I remember when I first started they would sell for about $125 (three years ago) and then they started going for $200 as more people started learning they were a good mod. I kept waiting for one under $100...bad idea...I don't think they can go much higher than they are now.
I use Search Tempest - The EASY way to search Craigslist! for my CL searchs. It works so good I don't really want to tell other people about it. It cuts your CL search time by 75%.
