well got back from the dyno tonight for the new heart...557 ci
575hp at around 5800rpm, close to 700ft lb torque, nice and flat curve..held over 600 torque from 2k to over 5k rpm. Time to build a cage for the driveshaft!
this is only with a mild cam, iron heads and 950 carb..as it is a daily driver
SHWEEEEETTT!! lol Im building a 428 FE out of my 390 thats very well built with most of the parts going in my new 428 block. Got a new scat crank on order as we speak. Im running between 350-375 horsepower in my 390 but my 428 I wanna shoot for around 450 with even bigger torque all in lower rpms, ideal for me. Sounds like you got a beast though should be fun!!!
thx for the comments. I dont have cam specs in front of me, but it is mild, nice idle and great vac for running my factory PS. Intake is a dual plane with a small cutout. carb 950 double pumper. Dove block 80 over and stroked. Forged crank/rods, converted block to 4 bolt. pistons custom, 9.5:1 compresson. heads are ford iron with port work, and bumped valves up to 2.25/1.76. headers are mad dog.
have to decide on exhaust we are lookin at 3 or 3.5" duals, i like the current exit behind rear tires, but may do in front..i gotta search some pics and see if i can figure out what she will look like set up like that. the builder demoed his wastegate/exhaust dump (electric) that he has on his v10. flick of switch=open headers..very cool and prob will install for a 'just the hell of it' factor, since we have to make everything
