Wondering which intake cleaner to use to clean the intake on my V10? What has been giving the best results? All of the cans i have seen say Do Not SPray On MAF Sensor.
You can use electrical or brake cleaner also.
These rarely leave any residue and 1/3 the price as MAF cans.
Works just fine, with no harm done.
MAF cans are expensive for a little can.
Using brake cleaner on a MAF is a very dumb move IMO. I've used a lot of different brake cleaners over the years and have found that some will melt plastic. Since the MAF is primarily plastic thats not good.
An electrical contact cleaner that doesn't leave a residue should work fine. I spend the measly $7 on CRC MAF cleaner which will clean the MAF at least a half a dozen times. At least I know the MAF specific cleaner is tested and is safe. The MAF is too important to cheap out in my eyes.
