2002 f150 4x4, just started last night all of the sudden. Its a weird noise coming from it sounds like my rear passenger tire. When im under 10 mph it sounds like everytime my tire spins around it makes a clunking noise. I cant figure it out. I have got under it a few times already thinking maybe a rock or something like that is somewhere but i saw nothing. Its a really loud noise. Anyone have any ideas. thanks i appreciate it.
My friend has a 2000 F150 that had a noise in the same area. We pulled the wheel and found that the E brake assembly had come apart inside the rotor. Check it out !
If you're moving that slowly have somebody walk along to confirm it's coming from the brake area, if so take it apart. I'm thinking you truck has rear discs, if so the friction material on the park brake shoe may have let loose.
But step one would be to confirm the source ...
thanks guys ill those are some good ideas. The prob is im traveling right now so i will have to take in to somewhere. Should i take it into some place like discount tire and have them take a gander at it?
