Powder coating wheels

So I am gonna get a set of Mickey Thompson Classic II's when spring rolls around. Being that these are just polished aluminum I am going to have them powder coated clear for about $50 a piece. Any reason I shouldn't?

Make sure you use a dremel with a sanding wheel on it to snad the pc off the inner hub area so the center caps slide back in and also make sure you sand the back side of the rim where it mates to the trucks hub. All of this is not just to make the install easier but also the balancing machine may not be able to balance them as close if the pc is not letting the rim fit flush/ tight and smooth against the balancing machines hub. I had these M/T's pc-d.

I've heard of some folks using a quality polyurethane finish on wheels (bare aluminum) with decent results after removing all the old clear coat from the factory....
