7.3L Fuel/water separator leak
I did a quick search, and didn't see anything on it.
A friend of mine has a 7.3L F250, not sure what year, but probably right around a 99/00.
The fuel/water separator on top of the engine is leaking around the drain valve. Does anybody know if there is a repair kit for that, or does the "standard" fix require replacement of the entire separator assembly?
If that's the case, has anybody done their own fix, and can the drain valve itself be removed from the separator assembly without disassembling everything on top of the engine?
Thanks.

Yes, it is very common. Yes, there is a repair kit. And, yes, it can be done in about ten minutes without further disassembly. Note that on some poorly maintained vehicles that haven't had the water separator drained regularly, the water can corrode the fuel separator housing and cause a leak as well. You'll have to disassemble and inspect to make sure that's not the case.
