05 STC fitting replacement kit help

As I move forward with my engine swap I am doing what mods I can to improve reliability. My new 06 engine has the push connect stc fitting for the HPOP. I have purchased the 07 updated fitting kit. I removed the cover and see what needs to be done. My question is: Do I need to remove the entire pump from the block to replace this piece? There were no instructions in the kit. There are a lot of nylon bolts and o rings in the kit. I just do not want to dive in and make myself more trouble.

Thanks

ok its really easy to do.
first remove the pump.
unscrew the old stc fitting from the pump
screw the new stc fitting in 5 turns.
put large black plastic pice on pump and align it to stc fitting use the nylon bolts and wing nuts to hold it in place (remove the alignmant dowl that on the bottom before nstalling nylon bolts)
that large black plastic is used to both align and hold the stc fitting in the correct place while tighting it up.
after its tight remove plastic bracket, reinstall alignment dowls, reinstall pump.

at the front top side of the oil rail there is a plug that is a 10 mm allen that unscrews that has 2 o-rings .the bottom o-ring has a tendensy to fail causing a hard/no start condition.just thought that if you are trying to get the engine oil system updated that it would be a good idea to install new o-ring.

lmtech,

Thanks for the information. The 06 engine I am installing is new. Only miles on it are the miles it took to load it and unload it from the hauler. Because it is from a van prototype I have to use a few parts from my 04. I am trying to upgrade known issues to improve reliability. ARP studs and some egr work are the main things to be done.
