Be careful with the running of the hose al the way back, like mention earlier, condinsation can build up in the hose and if it freezes, you'll have the problems mentioned above, crankcase presure, bad. Does it freeze down in AL.?? TD, I just ran mine over the booster like Keith's, right to the ground, a drip here and there, no biggie. I will evenually do a trap, Clay's system is nice.

Yeah, it does...i'll cross that bridge if i have to, but, so far, so good...i thought about if it froze up, i could cut the heater hose to a shorter length and terminate it just below the engine bay...the warmth of the engine compartment would keep anything from freezing...what do you think??

A couple times a year I put an electrician's snake through my ccv hose and pull a rag back through it. It doesn't seem to get that oily. Of course the more blow-by the scuzzier it will get.

Don't get me wrong, It looks profesionally done I just heard horror stories where condinsation built up in a valley of sorts in the hose and frozen, I think Ken powerstroker99, I think his screen name was, had something going on around his turbo exhaust side from the backpressure.

Thanks...i remembered today what the plug thing for the factory CCV inlet was called....i bought a package of rubber bypass fittings for $1.29...i only used one that i could slip over that fitting...i didn't need a clamp there...i read all those horror stories too, and its why i wwaited so long to do it...i'll try Joe's trick there, and if it does condensate and freeze, i'll try cutting it to terminate at the bottom of the engine compartment...

Yup that was me! Thank god it didnt take out the seal in my turbo. So far so good now. Ever since i rerouted it over my Master Cylinder and evened out the hose, havent had a problem.

I went out and looked over my work, and this is what i found...i tried to maintain at least an evenness throughout, hoping for a continuous downward slope to my hose, but, i realized that i made a critical error at the rear end...i didn't really pay attention to the fact that, no matter what, it took an upward turn with the chassis...so, to repair it, i'm going to shorten the hose to terminate just before the chassis turns up, so, it will terminate right at the rear end...i want to make sure there will not be any oily residue blowing on my tires causing wheel spin, so i will snug the hose up against the chassis....

CCV done

I finished up this mod today. There was a little more smoke coming out than I expected. Anybody had a problem with a smoke test with this mod? I guess you could bypass it for an inspection. We don't have annual inspections here but may be an issue if we move.

I've had my CCV mod almost as long as I've had the truck. My hose runs up over the master cylinder, then down toward the transfer case, pokes out and runs uphill along the frame to just in front of the rear tire. Never had an issue 1 in 2 years with it freezing over or plugging up. Everyone says not to have any dips or uphill runs in the hose... well so far so good for me. The only reason mine is this way is because it was really the only way I could see to run it back any amount of length... I have a mondo fuel tank that hogs up a lot of space I could have run the CCV hose.
