Im a career firefighter in Georgia, just east of Atlanta. Thanks for all the help guys, the air filter will be next, then I guess ill take the dirve on the gauges. Any advice on which brand and who to order from???
I want a pyro, boost, and tranny since its an auto.
I got my Isspros gauges from Dieselmanor, everything included in the kit, everything, even had extra parts for different configurations, of course that was before Clay at Riffraff Diesel was in business. Click on my link in my sig below and go shopping, like mentioned above, he has everything you'll need and he's a great fella to boot, welcome to FTE.
Definitely do a 6637 or similar intake mod soon. They're cheap, easy to do, and effective. A real no-brainer. I can't honestly say that I noticed my truck running a lot better when I did mine, but I DID notice an immediate elimination of soot and unburned gasses and crap spewing out the tailpipe when I step on the loud pedal. And the exhaust note changed a little. Definitely much better air flow and combustion.
Get the gauges from Clay at Riff Raff. Give him a call with any questions you might have. He'll steer you straight and won't try to talk you into buying anything you don't want or need. Click here for a for a very complete set of instructions on mounting a set of pillar pod gauges. Clay has a MUCH better setup for mounting the boost sensor, but the photos in the link above will show you exactly where to mount the trans temp and EGT sensors as well as which under dash wires to tap for lighting. I'm in the middle of installing my Isspro Performax gauges I got from Clay. It's not as difficult as it looks.
Name from left to right what each of these guages are there for...lol...i don't think you can process all that info just to go to the grocery store....muhahaha

The 6637 from Clay is a good buy, make sure you get the sock too...ooops, the cover...Clay also has a pretty reasonably priced guage setup...it ain't cheap, but you don't have to shop around for separate pieces...shop through Clays site for ideas...click the RiffRaff Diesel Performance link at the left of the forum page...he has some really cool stuff there...
Sheldon, thanks a lot for the link to the PDF. Im pretty sure I could do the entire install with my laptop in the garage. Its deffinitely not as bad as I thought it would be. I guess ill have to save up some of these tiny paychecks and get me that package.
Welcome to forum from a fellow Southern fire fighter(Bartlett, Tn). You picked the right frum to join. and i also vote for the 6637 and gauges. I prefer autometer gauges. The ccv mod and AIH delete are cheap and easy to do also. And the CCV mod is easy to do while doing the 6637.

On that subject, the Isspro gauges are more expensive, but they're made in the good ole U S of A, up in Oregon. I decided to dig a little deeper and buy a domestically produced product. I'm just sayin'.............
