so i have a set of aa injecters from a 96 and a set of 99 split shot i am going to put a chip in my truck mostly for fuel eco not looking for a lot of power maby45 to75 hp my 95 f250 psd gets 19 to 20 mpg my 99 f250 psd gets 16 to 18 the only diferance is 95 2wheel 99 4wheel same gear i would like to get more mpg .
Not sure if any of those senarios is Joe, lol, he likes to do both.. I'm shootin for hybrids, a little more money but can be tuned for your specific needs, and then be re-tuned for different power levels, nice feature..
Here's some info on the injectors you have:
--------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------- A and AA injectors came in the '94-'97 non-california trucks. They are all 90cc injectors and are single shots.
AB injectors came in the '97 cali, and all early '99 trucks. They are split shot injectors meaning they fire a small pilot shot before the main shot. These injectors flow 130-135cc of fuel.
AD injectors are also split shot but flow 135-140cc of fuel due to a slightly longer plunger stroke. These are found in all late '99-'03 Powerstrokes and T444Es.
----------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------
The 99s you have may be AB or AD.
Single shots are supposed to return better MPG. I sure hope so because I am going to buy a set.
so if i were to just convert the split shot to singel shot i should get more mpg and a small bost in power with the programer. the aa were in a 95 i bought that is in good shap im puting it in my 99 so i will have a moter i plan to rebuild better than new
The AAs WILL NOT have more power than the splits in your 99 now, unless you get them mod'ed. They probably will do better MPG-wise, but you WILL require tuning to run them in the 99, since it's setup to run splits. You're going from 130-140cc injectors to 90cc injectors. Get them mod'ed. My 235cc hybrids started out as AAs. I can get 22+mpg out of 'em -or- over 400hp. Not both.
ok i meant that i could mod the 99s to singel shot hybrids wile the moter is out i plan to put in some gages i would like to ceramic coat all the exhaust and change some of the intake

Man, it sounds to me like you need to hook up with Clay @Riffraff Diesel. He can answer all your injector questions plus get you a great price. Also, I got all my ceramic-coated stuff from him. He has great prices and the guys around here will tell you that you won't beat his service. http://www.riffraffdiesel.com
not much 60 to 75 hp all the time the ceramic i will do my self i have a large oven we are finishing soon dont trust tomany people with mods. been screwed tomany times leared how so i would make sure it is done right ill rebuild my injecters have done aa injecters just not split shots befor dont think there much different
I have heard some stories about modding your own injectors. They really need to be flow tested to do the job right. Casserly injectors, plain and simple. Its not something you want to cheap out on.
I have Casserly Stage 1 SS in my truck with a 38R Turbo and it moves. The SS have a bit of a lope/rougher/ louder idle to them though. I dont mind it sounds like horsepower to me
