ya, i am going to get the ats turn down housing and downpipe and have my pyrometer installed in the downpipe at the same time. . then methanol, then intercooler, then methanol. id love to do a propane system but price vs payoff is something ive gotta think about. its gonna be 1600 or better if i install it myself. they say you want your propane tank to be atleast 25% of your fuel capacity. for me, thats 35 gallons of propane. thats a pretty big frickin tank. might have to get a few smaller ones and mount them under-bed where my spare tire went and build a nice skid plate for them. so many plans for the truck, not enough money to do them all

I wouldn't put the probe in the down pipe, that's after the turbo. Ideally you want the probe as close to the exhaust port as feasible for the most accurate temp readings. Any where else your reading can vary 200-400 degrees. At the cylinder you don't want any more than 1200* for any period of time. If you have it aft turbo your gauge may say 900* when in reality your melting pistons!
all 3 diesel shops and 4wheel parts all said they would install it in the downpipe right out of the turbo. i guess it would be easy enough when i change the to the ats turn down and down pipe to just remove the whole turbo and put it in the manifold. try to get all the shavings outta the exhaust before the turbo gets back on it. last thing i need is to be forced to rebuild that ******* now lol
Install your pyro before you do the turbo for two reasons, you can check your egt's and compare it, and without the turbo any shavings will be blown out the exhaust.
it comes stock on the 94 idi's but my local diesel shops all offer it. if your in california, call advanced diesel shop in fresno, ca. ask for paul. hes been my go to guy for my questions.
Most guys I know running water/methanol injection on the street have removed their systems because of maflunctions of one kind or another.
When you start figuring the cylinder volume left at TDC, it don't take much fluid in the cylinder to hydrolock the cylinder.
If you have a pump malfunction and get to much fluid in a cylinder, at TDC on the compression stroke parts are going to fly.
And they will all be expensive parts.
im gonna start installin my intercooler tomorrow. lets see how that goes after i install my pyrometer and go from there. wouldnt mind propane injection too. but for the price, methanol is the way i might have to go for now.
