Speedometer Problem
Okay, so the speedometer on my 2007 F-250 6.0 has gone crazy. It still goes up and down as you accelerate or decelerate but it is off by 20 mph or so. When I am stopped it says i'm going 20mph and so on. It has done this before but it normally fixes itself after a few days. it has been like this for a month now and its starting to bug me. Any ideas?? Could it be a sensor or maybe the gauge cluster?? Any ideas would be helpful! Oh and FYI it has 140,000 miles so the warranty is long gone.

if its like mine, start with the abs sensor located in the upper center of the rear axle. I went with an aftermarket one since I have a connection at a parts warehouse. It cost me $20. They wear out, so start there. The abs sensor also controls the speedo , and is also called a vss or variable speed sensor.
