Prodigy plug for the ford
The plug and play is located under the dash. It is hard to find on the Ex.
While sitting in the driver seat, the plug in is located about knee height directly behind the dash from the right knee. Take off the access panel under the steering wheel. The plug will be right of the access panel behind the dash. It is a bit difficult to find...
I beleive the plug is gray.
It is always best to use the plug and play cables with the correct pig tails as I beleive you get a more reliable connection than a splice.
Good luck.
PS - I have that controller for my 8000# TT and it works magically. No jerking, hard stops, etc. Depending on the size of your trailer, dont be afraid to go aggressive on the braking power. It will save your front brake rotors...trust me, this is not something you want to replace often.
You can either buy it off of ebay and splice it onto the end of your brake controler harness, or buy the Ford plug at any trailer store.
Once you wire the adapter plug onto the end of the controller harness, it makes it a LOT easier to plug into the OEM trailer plug harness located behind the dash.
Here's where to look, and what to look for: The grey plug is the one to look for. The brown plug is a Ford specific adapter plug on the end of a Prodigy brake controller.

This is looking from the drivers side to the center dash/console area, directly behind and slightly below the climate controls.
