Hi. I did this conversion on my 74F250FWD with a 300 six and it works great. I found the wiring diagram in the back of my chiltons and just followed it big improvement over points.
Just did this to my 69. The Hayne's manual has the electrical diagaram for all types of duraspark. If you have any electrical ability it's a piece of cake. I suggest a higher power coil for the conversion and you may have to rotate the distributor 1 cylinder (plug 1 to tower 2, etc.) for clearance.
I forgot to mention, you must have full vaccuum for the ignition. Move the dist. vaccuum line to a port in the manifold rather than the carburetor. Some have dual vaccuum distributors, be sure to check yours.
Why not do the GM HEI module to the DS dizzy? More compact and runs off 12-14 volts...no resistance wires.
pm me with your email address and I will send you links
put it on your vistor message board thing. Dont know where to go to PM someone. hell...dont spam me with crap guys. I opened this email solely for this truck.
i find it is easier, cheaper and more efficent to just convert the distributor to a pertronix ignitor. this way when you need a cap and rotor you don't have to try to remember what the dist is out of.

Nope...unless you have one of those funny "dual advance" dizzy's. Even if you do, just hook the vacuum advance up to the carb PORTED vacuum port and leave the rear nipple on the dizzy vac can open.
