well, mine has a 360 w/ a c6 trans, the rear end looks like a dana unit (i don't know the truck axles too well, but it is a floating axle). I bought the truck last year, and plan on making it a workhorse/daily driver. The 360 is in need of a rebuild, as is the suspension. brakes are ok, as is the rear end. I pulled the c6 out and had a trans shop rebuild it for me. The body is in poor shape, but I don't care-these trucks are getting harder to find. It's fairly reliable, like I said though the engine needs a rebuild, and the 2 bbl motorcraft I'm about ready to throw in the garbage, but all in all it's a good truck.

I've still got mine too '71,'72,'78 "F2 Thunderberd", (that's because it's an F100 with F250 axles/brakes and a TBird engine) I figure it's 1/2 way between a 1/2 ton and a 3/4 ton.
hey bubba,if you read my little "story" i asked him if he had any questions that i could answer for him, also i can't get on chat or i would.our computer isn't powerful enough to load java script.so i don't see a problem w\ a little message on the message board,it doesn't say q\a on the top page.
I took my old Motorcraft 2bbl carb off of my 1965 F-250 390 CI and was going to put on a high rise Edelbrock Manifold and Vacuum 4bbl on the thing. I had the opportunity to try a Holly 500 cfm 2bbl and I'll tell you what. That thing flat flies. Am afraid to figure out the gas mileage but I'm quite sure that the mileage is poor. I don't really care since I am restoring it from the bottom up and I use it to tow my boat. The carb cost me around $200 but was well worth it.
