I just converted my 81 300 six toploader 4 speed to an aod. I have all the old 4 speed stuff and am not sure if i should scrap it or if it is worth any money. I ave the spacer plate, flywheel, z bar, shift linkage, pedal and other stuff. I hate to throw it away if someone out there needs it but i need it out of my garage. Any takers? or advice.
I tried to sell my old 4speed and stuff after my diesel conversion but ended up junking it after a year. it is a shame becuase they are real good units, just no overdrive. In todays world with fuel prices up people want tnat extra gear and will sacrafice the durabillity for it.
Keep in mind there is no transmission or bellhousing. This is just the brackets and flywheel. I live nere sumner and yes it is the aluminium overdrive thing. 20 bucks for my trouble plus shipping. I already extended the rod that goes from the pedal to the z bar for a 3 inch body and made new brass bushings in my lathe. I'll get a picture later of all that i have.
