I am having a real hard time isolating this clunk it feels like it right under the drivers floor pan. I cant seem to replicate it on command. bumps cause it sometimes, sometimes breaking, sometimes when I rev up speed, sometimes with clutch press.
Hard to tell if its normal or what, I went down there didnt notice anything wearing raw, I can jiggle the sway bar and some of the things that bushings are attached to assume more sway and such. dont notice anything else "bad"
its very random but want to make sure that its nothing that is broken or rubbing bad.
Sounds like your radius arm bushings. If it does it on a rough road but goes away it usually a brake caliper slide is missing and needs replacing.
Both are great sources of your noise. If they are good try looking at the bottom of the spring, there is a steel "pad" the coil sits on to keep it off the I beam, they sometimes wear/rot out and can cause a intermittent noise that can be a real PITA to find. I think over the last 20 years I've had all three mentioned here.
just based on the location, you might also check the frame around where the steering box bolts on...my frame cracked there and caused a pretty heavy clunk under the driver's side floor.
this might have been the floor pan all along, just riped out all the wet and soggy carpet and found something poking thru the pan! seems to be the cause.
