I've had this problem since the truck rolled off the dealers lot in July 2006. I've since put new tires on the truck, added dual steering stabilizers, and had it aligned at least 4 times. I even had the tech add a little toe in as was suggested to me. Nothing has helped. My dual stabilizer shocks are pro comps and the shocks are not pressurized which makes me wonder if they are worth a crap since I can EASILY compress them and pull them out. I've even thought about switching out the suspension bushings for aftermarket Poly bushings with the grease zerks. I don't know what else to do. My truck is a 2006 F-350 CC, LB, SRW with the FX4 package and now has 55,000 miles. Anybody run into this?
everything you mentioned has been checked by the dealership. They tell me castor can't be adjusted in small increments. I had a freind of mine suggest laying the castor back a little, but the alignment tech said that small adjustments aren't possible. I haven't looked at the steering box, but I think the dealership has, I was told that they checked out everything but since I wasn't there I don't know. I've not heard of a weak spring..... but I don't see any obvious signs. Does anybody have any thoughts as to how hard or easy it should be to compress the stabilizer shocks. Mine compress REAL easy. I would think that there should be substantial resistance. How about polyurethane bushings on the suspension components. I personally think the castor could use some tweeking but I don't think that's possible.
Im having the same problems as you going back to the shop again just steering box and what else they can find its driving me nuts had tie rods fixed new steering shock and new u joints they say every thing else is good so they are having it back and i hope its fixed this time
Senix, I have a procomp dual setup, but I like the look of yours better. I just think that there should be a good amount of resistance with those shocks. The OEM unit is real hard to move. Has anybody tried the Polyurethane bushings, or would that be a waste of money? Does anybody know if I can just replace the stabilizer shocks with a different brand that might be of better quality?
